Zen Shiatsu
Zen Shiatsu is a Japanese form of energetic bodywork, based on the same principles of Traditional Chinese Medicines such as acupuncture. Lines or meridians that run through specific locations on the body are used to rebalance the natural flow of energy or Ki (Chi, Qi), which, in turn, helps return the body, mind and spirit to a state of homeostasis.
Swedish Massage
Perhaps the most well known form of massage in the United States, Swedish massage uses five specific strokes to address all layers of tissue within the body. From the skin to fascia (the connective tissue below skin) and down into muscle and even bone. Swedish can be an invigorating, therapeutic and relaxing form of bodywork, all at the same time.
Neuromuscular Therapy
A highly technical form of rehabilitative bodywork, neuromuscular therapy or Normalization of Soft Tissue works to retrain muscular balance and tension patterns through proprioceptive re-adaptation of muscle spindle cells and golgi tendon organs. This process can increase performance, longevity and results in professional athletes as well as occasional gym-goers, while drastically reducing ankle, knee, low-mid-and upper back, neck and jaw pain.
Integrative Bodywork
A unique approach to bodywork, Integrative Massage was developed at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in the late 1970’s and operates on the principles of Holism, Mindfulness, and Embodiment. Through the use of slow, deep strokes, awareness, breath work and open communication, the client and therapist are able to address the whole person; body, mind and spirit.
